Cattail Yarn

I cut an armful of Vermont cattails at the end of last summer, and they've been a centerpiece of my living room all year.

It's time to clear them out, though, as they've started to decay into wild, airy handfuls of fuzz.

In case you're wondering, yes it's possible.

But, no, you don't want to!

You actually did that? Does it hold together?

Wow! You'd need a lot of those, but a cool idea none the less :-)

lol, too funny! Would be funny to knit up some deco cattails with the yarn though!

Have you tried the roots? I've heard they're very nutritious.

I just came to your blog via the website of "A Verb For Keeping Warm". Already have read through many of your posts. Thanks for your lovely knitted designs, thoughtful words, and inspiring photos. Plan to cast on for the Storm Cloud Shawlette later today. Need a little something to wear for my son's wedding next Friday.
