Silver moonbeams

Mountain Man got hand-knitted socks on our camping trip. Me? I happily brought my new shawl out to the forest.  It was a stealth knit, so you haven't seen it yet.  Freshly blocked. Light as air.

It's just like my Sunburst shawl, except this time in a silvery-gray alpaca silk laceweight (details here on Ravelry).  Whenever I'm planning on writing a pattern, as I have been thinking I'd do with this shawl, I like to knit a second version.

I don't know if it'll happen, this being crunch time for my dissertation and all.  But it's been good to have soothing alpaca-silk yarn on my needles. And it brought a much needed glow to my face during our trip to the forest.

  1. It's beautiful! What a perfect name for it too! The sheerness and color do look like moonbeams.

Absolutely gorgeous! I love the plain are which provides more coverage and warmth where it is needed - around the neck and shoulders. How lovely that you showcased it with the pine trees in the background. I, too, am a fan of your designs. I would be very interested in this pattern.
